I think Jeter will get it, but it should be either Dye or Ortiz. The arguement that Ortiz doesn't deserve it because of his team is rediculous. They're playing without 4 starting pitchers, their closer, their starting shorstop, left fielder, catcher, right fielder, and back up right fielder. Their backup catcher is playing hurt, along with their 2nd basemen. Crisp has been bothered by his finger for some time. Any team with that many injuries will struggle. It is a miracle they're not completely out of contention.

How can you say Papi? First off him and A-Rod had the same stats, the only difference: A-Rod actually played the field and had a gold glove type season. I just don't understand how you can give the MVP to a person who just hits. How valuable are they by just doing that?

Perhaps it is because PAPI delivers in the clutch and AROD is prone not to hit in the clutch

NL - a tough one to pick. I like Beltran for the MVP. But - and I know he didnt play at all this year - I would still have to go with Art Shamsky for 2006 NL MVP.

On another note I think Chien-Ming deserves consideration for the Cy Young. As a Red Sox fan that hurts, but he has been great this year. Too bad they didnt pull the trigger a few years back and send him, along with Cano, to Arizona.

My thoughts are based on the impact the MVP has on their team and the league. My choices are:

Ryan Howard -- NL

Jermaine Dye --AL

Red Sox-Ortiz, pretty simple.

How can anyone say that Howard is the only non steroid user to hit 60 HR's. How do you know he's not on steroids? I'm not accusing him of anything because I'd like to believe what he's doing is clean, but with the way baseball is going you never know.

The Howard situation was already brought up on a sports talk show yesterday

Sammy/McGuire/Bonds = also no brainer

Howard = also no brainer - with all the testing, etc, no way he's juicing.

You have undisputable evidence that Sosa and McGwire were on steroids, or are you surmising it through heresay, rumor and conjecture?

Bonds, McGwire, Sosa and Palmeiro were on steroids (knowingly or unknowingly)...Simple as that.

Not so simple, I'm afraid. Palmiero got caught. There is evidence against Bonds. Make your case against McGwire and Sosa. Evidence, i.e reports, testimony, medical evidence and the like. Your opinion simply is not good enough. Make your case.

I'll concede on Sosa now that you've asserted the cork as a method of cheating. No you have to come up with something on McGwire. Before and after pictures are not acceptable.

McGwire's, Palmeiro's and Sosa's testimony before the congressional committee was enough for 99% of the world, except for you, baseball.

I truly believe that McGwire and Sosa jacked up on every steroid available to them. McGwire, however, admitted to NOTHING when he testified before Congress, if you recall. 99 percent of the world perceives that he did steroids, but there as of today there is no proof that he did anything outside of baseball's rules. You know something that the rest of us do not? Please share it.
