Today a 3 year old little girl tragically lost both of her parents, 10 year old stepbrother and 13 year old stepsister. In Fort Worth a man shot his wife and stepchildren. He spared his biological daughter by taking her to a Baptist Church in Arlington, where his sister was employed. When they arrived they were both covered in blood splatter. He told her that he had killed some people and was going to kill more. After he left she called the police. He then parked in the driveway of a home a couple of blocks from an Arlington elementary school. The police surrounded his vehicle, put the elementary school on lockdown and evacuated the neighborhood. For several hours he sat in the vehicle and communicated with the police. Around 7:30 this evening he maneuvered around the armored vehicle blocking him in the driveway and led the police on a 10 mile chase before driving his vehicle off the boat ramp into Lake Arlington and committing suicide.

My son had just concluded his lesson as the chase started, they passed right by the parking lot that my son was in. My husband called to let me know that the suspect vehicle, 27 police cruisers, several helicopters and the armored vehicle were on the move. I changed the channel in time to see the car drive into Lake Arlington and began to sink almost immediately.

Tonight I ask you to pray for the countless numbers of children who are beaten and or murdered by the same people who are meant to be their protectors.

In MO this week, we have read about the sicko in St Louis who kidnapped an 11 year old boy a few years ago and manipulated and sexually tortured this child for years, threatening to kill him and his parents if he ever ran away. Then, a few days after he kidnapped and began to sexually torture another 11 year old boy, he was caught with both boys.

He had his day(s) in court this week and although the boys didn't have to go, their parents sat there and listened while he graphically confessed to the terrible things he had done to them, especially the older one.

My heart bleeds for them all, I'm not a violent person by nature, but I'm not exactly sure what I would do if someone did that to my boys or girl.

Now we are reading about how Sicko is going to be put in protective custody while in prison.....

I saw some of this story on the news but was not aware of the extent of his carnage. Praise God that his daughter's life was spared, but we do indeed need to be in prayer for her as she deals with the emotional pain and scars from this incident and probably more horrific situations in her life.

For the life of me, I cannot comprehend what some adults do to children, people (as you have all said) who are supposed to protect and love these babies. God's precious gifts need to be upheld in protective prayer on a daily basis because their are so many who do NOT cherish and love them.
