The Union Bulldogs (11-4) looked really good in the Sports Plus Classic this weekend held at Union University. Union beat Huntingdon College 9-1 in their first game, McKendree College 4-3, and Missouri Baptist 11-9 on a walkoff grandslam HR with two outs in the bottom of the 9th inning by outfielder Jason Johnson.
this has been a topsy turvy beginning for the NAIA teams - Lee and Weslylan have not played well, Weslyan has had several games either rained or snowed out. Lee wins 2 , loses 2, etc - check out there schedule on their website and look at the results, never really seen anything like it... Trevecca has really jumped out and done well, Lambuth has also been dissappointing. Union is Union, just as Cumberland is Cumberland - should be interesting as we roll into conference play and get some more games in...
