I have a player that has been "selected" at an Underarmour/Baseball Factory regional tryout, to go to Florida to be part of a National Team.  Does anyone have any more information about these "National Teams" that are at the Baseball Factory than what is shown on the website?

This player and his parents are really enthusiastic about it, but I have concerns that EVERYONE seems to get selected, and then if you go down there you apparently have to pay between $3000-$5000 to play.  And that might be great, and you'll play good competition, but will you get as much out of it as you would to stay home and play a high level summer season here in Ohio?  If he goes there and is going to improve, I think that is great.  But if he's just going to be paying a bunch of $$ to play  a week or two of games, I want his folks to consider that and get the big picture.

Thanks for any input anyone might have.

If you do come down I believe you have to put yourself up in a local hotel, your klid might be boarded....you can find the details on their website.  They play at the Pirates Spring training facility, Pirate City.  And this is not a national team...it is basically another tryout for the national team...you "qualified" to attent this event from the last event you were at.
