Can my 07 son "casually" visit with a college coach prior to July 1st? My son called a college coach and the coach asked to meet him in late June on campus at his office.

I think casual is preferred!! However, I want to be sure that meeting the coach on his campus when there is not a camp or showcase or school-sponsored baseball event is okay. Can't really find a rule in the NCAA booklet that fits this situation...
You son just happens to be on campus and bumps into the coach--if he doesnt want to talk he will tell you

I agree, in our experience the unofficial on campus visits were always the best. Remember, the NCAA rules for what contact can and cannot happen vary by the calendar and by division. But the rules (and penalties) apply to coaches not the players! So if the coach is setting up the meeting, don't worry about it.
Here's a link to the NCAA Guide that will answer many questions. Starting on page 27 you will find the recruiting guidelines. Also, on page 19 are some good sample questions to ask.

You answered your own question in your first post when you said "My son called a college coach". It's called an unofficial visit and perfectly acceptible within the NCAA guidelines. Like others have said, your son will be on campus and if he happens to see the coach while he's there, good for him.
