The @NCAA Committee for Legislative Relief has granted DI Baseball a blanket waiver that extends through 2022.
In 2022:
* Rosters will be capped at 40 (unlimited ’21, 35 normal season)
* Counters stay at 32 (up from 27)
* 25% minimum scholarship rule gone yet again.

I don’t know where to even begin with this lunacy. I have no idea what the thought process is. At some point you just have to move on. It’s called life .
Do you think any of them are even remotely aware they are making the issue worse?
This is the same as the person who needs to lose excess weight addressing the problem by just buying the next size in pants rather than losing the weight.
I'm just trying to get my head around this and see how it could impact my 2022. This appears to be a roster waiver and not an eligibility waiver- right? If so, doesn't that just give the schools some relief allowing current kids with eligibility waivers to work through the system while not adding to the problem by granting additional eligibility waivers? Confusing.
Correct it’s not an eligibility waiver.... but, realize that D1’s can grab any juco, or D3 kids, who 2 years ago they couldn’t accurately project but now can and then you have the 21 yo “freshman” that the 18 to 21,22 gets to compete with. And by making the space available in a roster to do so they can load up. Crazy. The roster raiding by D1’s right now is something Ibhave never seen ever before.

Guilty! Although I have lost 40 lbs since the start of the CCP Virus and back to my goal weight

That's awesome. I have 32s, 34s and 36s in my closet. Just recently I told my wife to give away the 32s because that's never going to happen again. So, I'm just as guilty as the NCAA.
It still only takes 18-20 players to play a season. All a 40 man roster does is provide five more cheerleaders on the bench for home games. Five more players will have the long shot potential to stick with the team.
I found an old ARMY uniform in the basement. 28 inch waist in Ranger school!
All you have to do to achieve this is to run 10 miles a day in boots and eat only while walking!

The world needs a serious serotonin boost and strong hand to pull them from the cliff. The good news is they can still change their insane decisions. Maybe I have warped taste buds but I do find some MREs quite delicious.

That’s because MRE’s look like steak n lobster next to the terrible decisions of the NCAA.
Our program has been stockpiling on juco players ever since the original announcement. With two years of no 25% minimum a coach can turn a 25% offer for one guy into 5 offers for 5 guys. All of which will be gone in time for it not to be an issue when (if) things go back to normal. I would assume our coach was banking on another waiver and it paid off. The high school class that just signed did not feature everyone listed as committed on PG. The signing day press release had a bunch of 2 yr players. Not too surprising.
I don't know what the future is going to look like, but I would say now is as good a time as ever to be a juco sophomore. And now is as bad a time as ever to be a hs upperclassman.
For those that can afford the PG option, HS Upper Classmen may extend their potential recruiting chances in this manner.

I believe the update is the specifics on roster caps and scholarships, etc...
I wonder when they're going to announce that this year won't count eligibility wise
