I know I'm leaving some off, but these are some kids that I've been personally involved with over the last several years that are D1 possibilities. Hope that helps.

BTW, VL - how was Disneyworld? Not so many clowns as on here, I'll bet...

Disney was greatness. For those of you that have younger ones, I would recommend you take a team there. Our experience was unique because of the investment from one of our parents. We got off the bus back stage at MGM. They had rolled out the red carpet and had 150 Disney employees lining the carpet cheering for our boys as they asked for autographs and held signs with the players names on them. The kids were treated BIG LEAGUE. We played against Magglio Ordonez Jr. Great experience. Next year we are going to Arizona to play during spring training. So if you have a 10 turning 11 and he can go, let me know. Dirtbags-baseball on eteamz provides some addtional pictures of the trip. I'll promote them harder here as they approach high school. Wink Especially when KG joins my coaching staff.

Thanks to all for your responses. I had the pleasure of getting to spend about an hour talking to Larry Hays for the first time in 18 years. FO he was very complimentary of Matt and reiterated the affect of his absence from the team. Great man to have guiding your son through baseball and life. Another hard fought game between DBAT and Linty's Tigers. I am enjoying retirement. I am having fun second guessing Linty and Kermit. I then drove to Frisco to make sure I could second guess L.A. in the Marshals 7-6 win.

Lynn, you are trying to get a start on early recruiting for next summer. You can't pull that one off. Just joking Lynn you are one of the good ones. applaude
Really didn't want to mess that previous post up with anything that I have to say.

But, Coach Hays was at Allen on Thursday night.

Recruiting is a complicated, complex, confusing, and dynamic process.

This website is a tremendous resourse for all of us.

Some of you might be contacted in the future by Texas Tech about playing baseball.

They only fill about 32 spots and only a portion of those each year.

So, they don't need to talk to every player in the metroplex.

From the coaches point of view, they have to recruit to build a team each year and for two or three years in advance.

When Matt was signed as a senior, there was a soph catcher at Tech, that would be a junior when Matt got there for his freshman year.

That allowed Matt to get some playing time with that junior (Cooper Fouts) helping him along. Don't get too hung up on whether your son will start his freshman year. It takes that year of easing into the higher level.

Now, Matt will be a junior next year. His knee injury and draft eligibility add to the pressure for the Tech coaches to have another catcher ready.

I think it is likely that Coach Hays is looking at a lot of catchers right now and over the summer.

Probably only one or two will actually get an offer because that is all they need.

I set all this up to say this.

When you get that offer (or any of you at any position)from Coach Hays, and, maybe it's a nickel less than you think it should be, take the offer.

You'll get the nickel back later.

Shuttle...which one is your kid? Not too difficult to figure out. Take some lessons from H&U on screening your son.

If your son (catcher) has that pop time than your coach made another mistake for leaving him on I assume the JV since I have never heard of him. Remeber JV ball is different from Varsity ball. Hitting 400 is an accomplishment but not the same on the Varsity.

TRAIN (appointed Coach of the Year)
