First time poster here. I had finished calling two games last night at our local recreation league and walked over to catch the end of the final game on another field. A flyball was hit to right field down the line. The RF went to catch the ball and it hit his glove and rolled out of the opening at the end of the field-into dead ball territory. Local rules are an automatic dead ball and two bases for ball that roll out of the opening. The PU called dead ball and awarded the batter 3B. Did he make the proper call? Thanks in advance.
