This kind of story is what makes it all worthwhile and I think PG will fully agree with me

Back in 2001 we had a young man at one of our events who was big and strong, and too big to be honest with you, but showed desire extraordinary. He wanted to play Diviion I bur we advised him to look at Division II or III where we felt he would be more confortable--we also advised him to drop some weight and get in better physical shape.

Yesterday I got an email from him thanking us for how we had talked to him. He has dropped the weight and went NAIA where is happy and flourishing.

These success stories are what make it all worthwhile and it just continues to show that if a player wants it bad enough and looks to the places where he and his talent will fit in best , he will succeed and play college baseball while getting his degree.

Nice to hear a happy ending to the trip~!!!

TR - last night at the completion of my son's highschool tryouts, the coach used one of our other seniors as an example. The coach was speaking to all kids, but especially the one's that had been cut. He told about a kid who didn't make the team as a freshman. However, the kid didn't give up - came back, tried out, and made it as a soph and junior. As a junior last year, he contributed (pitcher) to us getting to the state finals. I love these kind of stories and these kind of kids. A kid who will take an honest evaluation, work hard and keep trying. His parents made no excuses his freshmen year, but continued to support him in working hard. This player is an asset to our team in many ways.
