What a wonderful article about the type of player and attitude that makes good college teams into champions.
I would imagine most of us have seen good college teams without a Joe Slater. At the end of the season, they usually remain good college teams.
As much as the article is about Joe Slater, and it should be, it is also about intangibles that make such a difference.
What a nice way to start the day!!

Great story - Joe obviously has a tremendous love for the game - and a huge streak of persistence. I'll be rooting for SSU to go deep in the playoffs this year just to see him get a chance to experience what he witnessed last year.

Got another nice story up there at SSU also...from our local high school...RHP Devon Kreyenhagen...hasn't got to play much...but he is a good story just to make the team and stay there with no Kudo's out of HS...
