My son wears these also and they are becoming harder to come by. Ebasesloaded.com has some sizes available in the knickers with piping.  Baseballmonkey.com seems to have some sizes in certain colors. It looks like the New Balance website has lots of sizes still.

Thanks for the links. No luck with his size/color combo. I found one pair on DirectSports.

Any idea why they are so low in stock? Is NB getting out of the pants biz?

Does nobody know how to properly roll pants anymore?

I taught several kids back in youth ball and they are still carrying on the tradition.

It's a lost art, I think, kinda like driving a manual transmission...

Care to share your method? My son is guest playing this weekend for a team that is giving him long pants to wear. He hates the feel of long pants for some reason.

It's easier to show than describe. It's also easier if the pants have elastic in the ankles, but can be done without. See below.

Start by putting on your sliders, socks/sanitaries, and stirrups. Remember the higher stirrup goes to the back. Pull the socks &  stirrups up over the knees as high and tight as possible.

Put the pants on normally, then pull them down like you're about to drop a duece. Sit down and let the pants fall all the way down turning inside-out as they come down. Leave the ends of the pant legs on your calves with the pants hanging off your feet inside-out.
Pull the bottom of the pant leg up to just below your knee, then fold about 1-2 inches down toward the floor over the pants. Pull this folded section back up to the knee, smooth the fold to prevent bunching and get it as flat as you can, and then repeat with another fold. (This is the art part - every pair of pants seems to like a slightly different fold pattern.)

Do about 4-5 folds, and then move to the other leg. Repeat same process on the other leg. Try to make the folds equal width on each leg. Once you have 4 or 5 equal folds in each leg, align the pants just below your knees and pull the pants back up to your waist. Button pants and see how it looks.

If too low or loose, drop pants again and do another fold on each leg.

If pants dont have elastic in the ankles, you have to try to really tighten the first folds into themselves kinda like putting a towel around your waist. But keep it as flat as possible, and hold it tight as you do each fold. Then when you get to the last fold, take about a foot of clear packaging tape and wrap tightly around the folded section before you pull up the pants.

Good luck. It gets easier the more you do it.

Good Night...allow me to tie it all together for you. This summer my son made the mistake of ordering his regular size for his uniforms a) not realizing there would be knickers and b) not taking the equation "COVID weight-lifting + full meals every 40 minutes (my estimate) = 15-20 pounds" into consideration. The result is what can only be described as a costume. If you zoom in, you will see that in 99 degrees in GA he had to wear leggings under his pants because they didn't come down to the socks. He's since learned if knickers are involved, he has to go up a size or two so that they are long enough!! LOL

Holy cow! How tall is your son? He makes that coach look like a 5th grader!

I can only imagine what your grocery bill is like for him alone. My son has always been pretty thin so we went with knickers years ago because it was easier due to his waist being tiny. We are always looking for socks that are longer so he doesn't worry about his knees showing. We found some from MadSports that go up to his thigh. On your son though they'd probably be crew socks!

I've never heard of the Rawlings underhemmed. Where do you buy those?

Part of tradition at my son's high school is that the seniors and some of the other team leaders get to pick out/design a new set of uniforms each season. My son mentioned to me yesterday that they are not getting a new set this year because New Balance is so backed up in order fulfillment because they can't get any product. I told him we need to start hunting for pants for the season now. Finding white/green piped knickers is going to be mission impossible unless something changes from now until the season starts, which I don't see happening.

My son's HS has the same tradition.  He graduated in 2020 and as a Captain got to design the uniforms.  They were bought but Covid shut the season.  On one of my Covid walks through the HS I saw this year's team wearing the 2020 uniforms.   Our school is white and blue but the uniforms the 2020's designed were KC blue top and blue pants (maybe KC still wears them.  As shown as worn by my favorite Royal!
