Does the old CHS coach move up from freshman ball to take the HP job?

Or does the same move with Lew to Celina?

Go out of town for R & R, come back and find this. Is Lew moving to Celina and taking over that job? Didn't know that James was leaving or getting out.

Besides when did LD ever get anywhere in baseball (playoffs etc)??????????

Sorry TigerParent but LD (Lake Dallas) has a pretty strong tradition in baseball.
They have made the playoffs the past eleven years.
Upset Highland Park last year in a two game sweep (2005 defeating Kershaw 1-0).
Were in the state final four in 1997.
Have been a district contender for many years.
Made a trip to the regional finals a few times.

Did this answer your question??????????

I gotta ask -- who cares what else Matlock coaches? Here is a guy with a track record that did not want to continue to work for peanuts (college baseball peanuts, that is -- and believe me, they're peanuts -- I just a few days at TCU). He will be good for the program, regardless of his other responsibilities. Until recently, the Plano head baseball coaches also coached football -- this isn't an abnormality -- this is Texas, you know. Smile

No one is questioning why Lew Kennedy would leave coaching all together -- for a principal's position (not too glamorous). Again, a personal decision that is probably perfect for him and his family. We should all hope he finds nothing but happiness in Celina.

I'll throw another coaching move in that some of you may know about.....

Tim Harkrider has accepted the head coaching position at Fort Worth Brewer (White Settlement ISD). Tim is moving to Brewer from Kilgore HS in Kilgore, TX where he guided them to two district 17-4A championships in his two years there.

Some of you may remember Tim from his days as a player at Carthage HS where he won the 3A state championship in the early 90's. Tim played on the Mustangs during those days and went on to the University of Texas. He was drafted by the Angels out of UT.

He is a great coach and the Brewer players and fans are going to really like him. Ya'll don't know how lucky you are.

well does anyone have any info on the highland park situation.

I just found out that sam houston has it down to 5.

couple of the notables:

westmoreland- hs coach in houston
stockton- a-m kingsville coach
johnson- ex texas a-m coach

anyone know any info on this one....

Someone elaborate on the situation at Highland Park.
good job
bad job
who is in the district????
ctiger -- from my perspective, it is an excellent job. Understand that I have never coached on the HS level, but it is a one-school town with strong booster support. The school does a nice job of remaining at the 4A-level Wink --- and their district has been strong --- Mesquite Poteet, West Mesquite, Forney. All sports at HP have a nice tradition -- and there are fine, committed athletes. Pressure to win? Sure -- but no worse than many schools in the area. The parents have high expectations, as expected. It's a nice gig.
