Next year the NCAA is implementing a new rule for College Baseball. No practice may begin before February 1st I believe, and no one may play any games before February 28th. They will still be allowed the 56 games per regular season, but this will cause many more Tuesday and Wednesday night games, because everyone will lose out on the 5 weekend series that would have normally been played by then. Several northern schools and leagues complained that Southern Schools and Western Schools had an advantage because of weather, and could start much earlier than northern schools. However, playing Tuesday and Wednesday night games will make it difficult on academics because of travel and what not. I still think that Western Schools will still have an advantage, especially in Southern California, because teams like UCLA, USC, Fullerton, Long Beach, can schedule each other, and only have to drive 45 minutes to the game. So it probably will not affect them as much. Your thoughts?
