The NECBL can be a terrific Summer opportunity.
It is organized and run similar to Milb.
They play a 42 game schedule and post-season.
The quality of play is very good, right with the CPL, Valley and some others. Not the Cape but not far from it.
You will find many ACC/SEC teams placing their top freshman and other players in this league, depending on innings.
There are players from every major conference. There are also high quality D2 players, especially from New England, along with JUCO and D3's who compete pretty darn well.
As with most every league, there can be variations in the community support but the teams are usually well run and the GM's/owners make a great effort to provide a memorable experience, on and off the field.
This Summer they had an All-Star game at Fenway vs. Team USA. fanofgame's son participated!
There are some long trips, just like Milb.
Our son played in the league 2 different Summers.
As a coach, some of their teams are the first he calls to place his players.
New England/Boston/Maine/New Hampshire...beautiful and some wonderfully nice people. Keene NH is quite an experience..a lot like the Cape for a field/fan situation.
Newport..with the best in all of Summer league baseball.
