JO - Hate to see you left hanging on this topic, but other than Harvey, we haven't heard much, yet. May just be to early in the year to start hypothesizing the '07 draft.
Harvey is definitely the top one. Also have to put McGeary (LHP/Roxbury Latin/MA) in there. They are probably the top two in New England that would be considered top 5 rounds.
There might be others that go later then that, just have to wait and see.
there is an 08 from stafford, ct named dan paolini who was at 87 at the underclass tournament in ft myers, he shut out the east cobb astros for 4 innings with 6 k's... played some ss and swings the bat well too.... i believe he'll be at the national underclass showcase in dec
What about David Christoferson from Hollis/Brookline? I know last year he wasn't able to play for most of the season yet he still has a decent ranking on the 07 list. Anyone know if he verbally comitted?
BHSbaseball0902 I need some help...I do not know who the Wiswall kid is at BC and he is not on their 06 fall roster. I saw a few games at BC last year and was just curious. Thanks
Not sure if anyone was looking for college draft possibilities, but here's a few New Englanders to go with Harvey and McGeary. I've heard all of them mentioned in the top 250 in the 07 draft class.
Charlie Furbush, from Portland, ME, just transferred to LSU this year I believe.
Cory Riordan from Killingworth, CT, at Fordham, RHP is another.
Andrew Carignan from Norwich, CT is back on the list as a junior, currenly the closer at North Carolina.
Terry Doyle, RHP from Warwick, RI, at BC.
Cody Crowell, LHP, from Harwichport, MA, at Vanderbilt.
Did the Twins actually sign Anderson with a recent TJ surgery or is he going back to school somewhere? I think he's finished at Northern Essex (2 yr school??), isnt he?
I know Anderson signed with the Twins and then released???? becuase of his arm. I remember reading a newspaper article saying that he was signed by the guy he was working out with up there in Portsmouth who is a high school coach/scout for the Twins. I knew he had TJ surgery but don't know how he is recovering.
I think he's definitely a prospect. Just wish I could remember his name, too many vowels...He should have a great collegiate year and then we'll keep our fingers crossed.
A few other HS kids: Sean Lucas from Beacon, NY LHP Greg Holle Chrisitian Bros Academy 6'8" RHP/OF
downNhard- Sheperd posts here on occasion, though I forget his screen name. He posted some videos of him throwing several months back, though. Sure seemed like he had one hell of an arm.
baseball 4 ever, If Anderson's status is that important to you, maybe you should PM his dad @ 20dad. I doubt anyone would want to comment on this issue without having the facts.
Wasn't trying to tick anyone off...I was just trying to get some more conversation going. Also, I didn't know his dad's name was 20dad. So sorry to trouble you.
baseball 4 ever i'm always a little hesitant to talk about my kids to much.especially if i don't know someone. do i know you? chris is doing fine had 4 month checkup in birmingham.cleared to start throwing program. he is progressing on schedule according to the rehab dr.
i want to add i think the highest draft pick from ne in 07 will be terry doyle.furbish will be up there if he has a good year at lsu.but terry is going to go quick. imo.
20dad, thanks for the info on your son. I do not know you or your son for that matter. I saw him pitch last year for Northen Essex and was truely shocked at how he threw the ball. I started to follow him then and that is what prompted me to ask how he was doing. I had no idea that you (20dad) was his father. Thanks for the info and best of luck. I also agree that Doyle will go quick, sometime soon after Harvey.
The other kid from Northern Essex, Szymanski. He transferred to Franklin Pierce and is already in the starting rotation. I predict he will be a draft prospect in two years.
