North had a baseball meeting yesterday to go over captain led workouts, weight room times etc... It was mentioned that coach Coffin had stepped down and that John Roper will be the new freshman coach at Nashua North.

I know a little about Roper and most if not all the comments and observations have been positive thankfully. I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts or experiences with Roper that they'd want to share.

My Son Kyle went to John over the last Winter season with 4 other kids from Nashua High Schools and he thinks highly of John. He is a great pitching coach on mechanics as well as a mentor for kids to look up to since he played at a Pro level. I was impressed with his work ethics with wanting to strive and getting better at all aspects of hitting , fielding, etc. One downfall was his World Baseball Facility had it's drawbacks lighting, size etc but he put a lot of work into it.
He is currently over at the NH Paintball near M&N Sports. He has a couple of cages as well and it's pretty wide open for long toss and infield drills etc. It's aroung 120'X 75'so it's decent size. I have not yet seen anyone using it for baseball yet though. Unfortunately Johns Web site is down so I don't think he has anything scheduled yet unless it's thru word of mouth. Hopefully Will H. @ NN possibly might utilize Johns new Facility as apposed to going up to the Wilton Power Series facility, its a bit of a drive and out of the way.
But to answer your question on John he puts a ton of effort and desire into Nashua Baseball and lets you know what it will take to get to the next level and he is about the most positive guy my son ever went to. I would love to see John take over the Coffee Post American legion coaching job, not that there is a need for a new coach, just someone new that knows Nashua kids, but one step at a time I guess.
Thanks for the link coach. That is definetely the link to his GID program. There are new coaches for the upcoming year so I know it is up to date.

Btw..I drove by the mills off of bridge street the other day and saw a sign for lessons from Roper so he has moved to the old mill buildings where M&N Sports and such are located.

I think his being named coach is going to be a good thing for my son and the other freshman!!
