My name is Nick Esposito, I am a former Independent League pitcher and a certified fitness trainer. I will be offering winter conditioning starting in January for anybody interested in the New Hampshire area.

Currently, there is a 6-week session which will go through January till February. That will be followed by a 4-week session that will bring you up to tryouts and your season.

Sessions would be 2 days a week, and the training would last for an hour each day. Packages also include an option to only go for 1 night a week.

Day 1 would consist of Plyometric Cardio and power sprint work.
Day 2 would consist of Speed, Agility, and Quickness work.
Each day would also have core/abdominal work as well as upper body work, NO WEIGHTS.

Please contact explosiveedgeperformance@gmail.com for more information.

I was joking. There is a "Baseball Camps" forum that this topic would fall under.

In terms of the southern NH area, there are many options for S&C. I know we offer programs at A.B. Athletic Development in Nashua. Dynamic S&C is moving in across the street from us but they are more of the "functional training" type facilities. Top Fitness is close by. I know there are facilities in Manchester and the Concord area, but I am less familiar. If you want to get into MA, Cressey Performance in Hudson is outstanding and Eric Cressey's blog is a great source of info.

Ultimately, the key with this stuff is to be safe and effective. Understand risk/reward for exercises. Is there an evaluation, video, considerations for individual positions, physical limitations. There are a lot of quality strength options in the area and that is great for local athletes. Consistency is key. Show up and keep showing up. Each player must be accountable for their own development and find people who help with their missions, objectives, goals.
Well, for right now, the conditioning sessions will be separate from the baseball activity, 2 different locations. For the most part, this is the first session I will be offering under Explosive Edge, I had done some stuff with AAU programs in the past.

The conditioning will be geared more for the explosive actions and building the fast twitch muscles in the hips and core areas. Ultimately for right now, it will be geared for baseball and softball players, but hopefully all sports down the road.

For the baseball pitching lessons I offer, their could be video analysis. Videoing is the key towards fine tuning I believe and its very beneficial.

For right now, staying away form the "weight training" and going with functional as well as the heart rate training to maximize the space that is available for me.

With AB, what was the process you had with the LLC and the business aspect of it?

I appreciate the input you gave.

If you are still in Hollis and you know the baseball scene, Jack White owns a law firm and you should know his name. If not, PM me for who I went through.

I'm curious about your training protocol as you've explained it. Generating force... getting strong... being explosive... Core stuff is good. But its not going to duplicate putting up some weight. One of the biggest things we see is the need for instruction of technique. Kids need to learn how lift, about posture, about movement patterns.

I've been doing video since 2006 and we film daily. I have a huge library of pro guys. Let me know if you want to stop by and see some... you can bring a thumb drive.
