Hello,
I'm new here, Shane (Funk) told me to check this place out, and it looks great. Great to see so many fans and players all get together here for the love of the game.
I'm 14 (YO) and just starting to play baseball, it seems I've always been a fan. It is great though to have some great prospects at my fingertips thanks to the wonders of instant messaging and the internet.
My question(s) is/are this...
I'm big. In all respects. Basically, I'm filled out. I am 5'10'' and 170 lbs. I am suppose to grow out to about 6 foot 2 inches.
I'm not super fast or super muscular, but I like to consider myself smart. I think about what I'm going to do, and I think well on my feet . I enjoy pitching, playing left field (easier through usually) and first base. I probably feel the most comfortable in the outfield but I think I am better at first than anywhere else. What do you think I should do? I've never played on a team where you have an assigned position like high school, so I have no idea where I'd fit in.
Also - my hitting. I was wondering if you had some suggestions or comments on my technique. I know it would be hard to critique without seeing, but I really don't swing at much. That's good and bad, because I walk and strike out a lot. When I do hit though, it isn't anything special at all, perhaps a bloop to the outfielder. Though, I do pull the ball most times, infact, it seems I always do. No element of surprise there then
Thanks!!!
Regards,
Andrew
