Well maybe not
A couple of weeks ago my older son and I went to a major league tryout camp about four hours from where we live. As usual they started with the 60's and as there were about 70 guys there and outfielders were the last to run, about 3/4 of the players had done theirs when my son's time came up. There had been a couple 0f runs in the 6.5 second range. Three guys ran at the same time and son burst past the other two guys by quite a bit. The two timers on him looked at their stop watches like they couldn't believe what they just saw. They both came up with 6.0 flat! The other two runners had 6.7 and 6.8. This led to to some consultation naturally and after everyone ran it was determined that oops!, the scouts had mismeasured by two or three yards. The funny thing is that they didn't notice it until someone really ran an awesome time. We knew something could not be right as he runs around 6.38 or 6.4 and were laughing that the Jamacan Bolt better watch out but we kind of felt for all the guys who thought they had broke 7.0 for the first time and then had it taken away. Oh well!
