I know a decent amount about lifting, but not a lot about baseball lifting. I know that having a big bench isn't likely to help you throw harder and hit the ball farther. Could someone give me an idea of what a baseball workout should look like or what kind of exercises it should include. I have time because of an injury that doesn't allow me to do anything for probably a couple of weeks.

I am listening to my doctor because it is very serious and he said if anything goes wrong when it is healing I won't be able to play baseball. And yes, I have read many of the previous posts on training. I have been reading this site regularly for a while, but just recently joined. I just want to make sure I train right and am not wasting my time in the weight room when I could be doing something to improve.
What if you run for five minutes- mod pace, throw for five mins- warm up, run for five mins- mod pace, throw again at 60 feet, then drink water, run ladder drills for 10 mins, then pitch for 20 full speed throws, then run for five more to top it off, all this from 6:30-7:30 in the morning. Then eat a protein bar with 32g of protein and a gatorade. Good routine? Change anything?
On Monday I do chest/arms with exercises such as bench, incline dumbbell, curls, and closegrip bench (along with others). On Tuesday I do legs with squats, leg extensions, leg curls, calf raisers (and more). On Wednesday I do back/shoulders with lateral raises, reverse grip lat pulldown, shrugs, bent over rows (and more). Thursday is like Monday, Friday is like Tuesday, and Saturday is like Wednesday. I mix in ab work 3 days a week.
I do not believe in bodybuilding routines for athletes.

So breaking down workouts into muscle groups is not efficient or effective IMO.

I train the body in movements. So I will eithe use full-body type routines or movement-type split such as quad dominant movements with horizontal push/pull.

I would be very suprised if you were recovering from such a high volume of weight training.

I am not attacking you in any way. I did my fair share of bodybuilding splits back in the day. Just pointing out what I believe is most effective and efficient.
