I think it should be very interesting to see what kind of rosters they put together. I understand they are trying to target guys that are A and A+ level players. I would think they will get bigger crowds than current Flordia State League, which by all accounts gets the worst turnout of any league in the minors.
Most FSL games are not well attended because most teams are very far away from their home team. Exception would be for the Rays (large attendance at a new A+ facility).
I don't know much about this league, whether it is a paid league or not, but had heard about it a month or two ago.
They are trying to target the low A guys, anyone who needs to put in time who didn't this year to improve their game and not able to play out of country.
Because they disbanded the Hawaiian league, MLB tried to form a league in AZ for lower A players, but it didn't go through in time, look for next year to possibly have a league there for those players, or for the FL league to expand.

Um, The GCL, Gulf Coast League might be worse. I went to two games, both at noon in July. Grandstand access was through the home dugout. I counted all the spectators on two hands.

I haven't been to a FSL game with less than 1,000.

It will be interesting to see how the new league shapes up. I read the league pays $800 to $1200 per month. I didn't know the Hawaiian league went away.

Both the Gulf Coast League and the Arizona League are rookie leagues and neither promote games or care if any spectators show up.

The FSL is advanced A and has the worst attendance of any A level league from short season to long season to advanced.

I've worked the FSL and I don't believe I've ever seen more than 600 in actual attendance, although the paid attendance number has reached in the 800's at times.

One of the best leagues for fan support and good promotional effort is the Midwest League, long A.
