I have a 17&U select team, which we just started, and as with new teams, we are not loaded, but very competitive. I am trying to figure out how to get kids to the next level of play. I feel as if I have several college prospects (at various levels) and have the desire to showcase thier talents, but I am having a lot of trouble trying to find showcase events in Texas. I have also read where colleges send out invitations for showcase events. How do you get on there lists?

Try Perfectgame.org It list different showcase events and how to particpate. Also go to the different college websites, they usually list camps and events at their schools. You may want to go to other select teams websites, see what show case tournaments they are attending and sometimes they will have links to that showcase.
Thanks RHS Dad, It appears as if it is mainly a case of who you know. I do this simply for the kids, but I am not sure if I am doing them any justice. A lot of select teams in the area go to colleges and play, but I have found it impossible to get information on how this is ran. Most of my kids play for me because I don't charge big money, but i am beginning to wander if I hold them back. Maybe I should tell them to go to teams with money and connections.
Many of the "showcase" tournaments held in Texas are put together via connections.

{I am not referring to the showcase events held by showcase companies such as PG.}

The elite teams from Austin, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio will take turns hosting showcase tournaments for their upperclassmen teams at various universites. It may be difficult for an unknown team to gain entry into these tournaments.

Good luck.
