Newest Addition to Valley League: The Strasburg Express

This is very impressive. Congratulations! You must be having a great time, although I am sure it is lots and lots of work. Perhaps I will catch one of you games on a visit back East.

Not much there till later on except contact info; we're still working on partnering with sponsors, facility upgrades, ordering a myriad of "stuff"-t shirts, sweatshirts, magnets, etc.

We've received a lot of calls and e-mails regarding player placements, but we don't begin play until June, 2011. Some very talented kids are still looking for 2010 roster spots.

It's a lot of work but a lot of fun. The Valley League is a great place to play-rural settings, small towns, the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, short trips for the most part (the longest is around 2 hours, and there are 7 teams within 60 minutes of each other).

Next season we'll try to get a certain young Nationals pitcher to visit; heck, we'll even name the town after him.

Just wanted to share some pics of the renovations taking place.

- Infield underwent a $25k overhaul several years ago, which one of the best infields around this area.

Thanks Coach! For those curious, when finished here in a month or two, these will be the changes: New Visitor's dugout, additional seating in new bleachers for 300 (seating capacity will be around 550), new wooden fence with netting in front of the new seating area, gift shop installed ("The Purple Caboose"), new storage building placed beyond outfield fences, parking lot split rail fencing,and sidewalk for handicap access. I'll give you updates and maybe you can get us a "before and after" deal...
