NFHS Defensive Conferences

From a coaching stand point that is correct. 

Funny Story.....Very rarely do you see that 3rd trip without a pitcher getting pulled and most people believe that you have to pull a pitcher on the 3rd visit.  2 years ago I took the 3rd trip and prior to the trip I looked at my assistant coach and stated, "Watch the confusion I am about to create."  , On my way out my pitcher is begging me not to come out, My bullpen guy is coming in from CF and I had to stop them all from panicking.  I get to the mound and leave the mound the opposing coach then tells the umpire that I had to remove the pitcher.  The umpire, who is actually a great umpire, comes to me and tells me I had to remove him and that it was the 3rd trip.  I told him, "You are right, it was the 3rd trip.  A coach has 3 trips and has to remove him on the 4th."  He says, "Sorry, your right." and walked away.

NewUmpire has it right on the money.  The only add I have is that each team while on defensive gets one additional non-charged conference per inning if the game goes more than seven innings.  I hope you won the debate in the parking lot!

It's not an "additional" conference in the extra innings; it's one charged conference per inning.  That is, any unused conferences from the first seven innings do not carry over.  And, if you don't use a conference in the 8th, you don't get two in the 9th.  And, it's one per inning, not one per pitcher per inning.

You probably know all that; I'm just trying to clarify for some who might not have known.

All,  Thanks for the confirmation and add'l info.  When you talk to some with 15-20 years and you only have 2-3, their strong positions on the rules makde me doubt myself.  This message board has offered a wealth of knowledge and shared experiences.  Thank you.
