I wouldn't say insane, but not realistic. The question I can't get a straight answer on is what is the goal of these sports policies? Is it to CYA, slow the spread, or eliminate/minimize the chance of infection so every kid (or their parent) feels comfortable playing? You could force the kids to wear a full hazmat suit during the school sports activity and guess what, they are still going to get this at some point. Sure, they can get it and bring it home to mom, dad, grandma, and grandpa. But mom and dad can spread it around just as easy.

As I drove by our local baseball field tonight, practice was going just like it would have been if we erased the last couple months. Nice to see kids on the field again.  We are playing a non school sponsored game with our teammates Thursday night.  I think parents and kids who show up are not expecting masks of any kind.  Most of us are ready to watch our kids play and feel normal.
