LOL!
Evidently you didn’t read the fine print! Although the rule book only costs $7, there’s a minimum order of $10! When I ordered, I just got the rule book and the case book.
Now I’m in a different position. The coach had the AD order a set of books for me, so I got mine free gratis.
I’ve also berated the HC into registering with NFHS to get access to all those neat things on-line. Now all I gotta do is get him to remember his correct username and I’ll be in real business!
Personally, if I didn’t get them free, I’d prolly just join and be done with it. I seldom look at a real printed piece of paper if I have access to an electronic copy.
Why won't they allow free access to their rulebooks like Major League Baseball does?
Some years back I had the opportunity to talk to the chairman of the rules committee and asked him the same thing. His answer was that they use the revenue to offset the costs of the shipping, printing, research, etc..
MLB and NCAA both give free access to their rules, but both of those organization make NFHS look like it belongs in the poor house! Besides, unlike MLB, NFHS prints a heck of a lot more “rule books” than baseball! NCAA also prints a bunch of different one, but like I said, a billion dollar a year entity is a lot different than a million dollar a year entity.
