Hey, NH:
Try-outs start today. Nothing better than 30 degree temps for baseball weather baseball4

Anyone care to venture some early predictions in any of the classes? Personally, I'm pulling for the Nashua's (North and South) to battle it out for the Class L title, but they'll have to get past the traditional powerhouses coming out of Salem, Merrimack, Concord, Keene, and Manchester Central.

Souhegan is always a Class I contender, and we heard a lot of noise last year from Hollis-Brookline and Merrimack Valley.

Season opener is April 10th. Last year's first couple of games were played in frigid conditions, so I'm hoping for a balmy 50 degrees, this year. Think we'll get there?

i wouldn't count the seacoast out yet.hampton is always tough. rochester has a young team but some good talent.portsmouth has some young guys that if they pull together could make some noise.dover is due to make some noise as well.it's really tough in my mind to count out the big teams as you mentioned.the only thing i know for sure is it will be fun. good luck to your son kmom.
20dad - heard Portsmouth may have changed classes, this year. Do you know if that's true? I don't remember seeing Hampton, but Rochester was in Nashua for the frigid start to last year's season. I specifically remember a couple of their infielders playing in shortsleeves - no jackets, no underarmours. I was in a winter coat with a hat, mittens, and a blanket and I still gave up and sat in the car after about the 5th inning. Isn't St. Thomas over your way, too? A friend's son made their jv team last year as a 1st baseman/LHP and then broke his wrist and was out for the season.

I'm actually looking forward to watching how a number of teams perform. My son has former AAU teammates at Trinity, Alvirne, St. Thomas, Manchester West, Derryfield, Merrimack Valley, Nashua South, Concord, and Pelham, and I'm sure I'm missing some. Good players all and we're wishing them all well.
well we have our team picked.our numbers are way down for many reasons,no good ones.it doesn't look like we will be a strong hitting team.if our pitching does as well as it should that could keep us in games.this is my sixth year watching high shcool baseball closely.i don't remember this many kids not playing for other reasons.not because of grades or other sports just not playing.it is a different time.
Hi, Coach,

Yup, Josh knows Kev. He played fall ball with that TNE team, stuck with them through the winter workout program and then spent the summer season with the NH Blackflies. It was a great year.

I can't believe Kevin's not catching anymore. He was incredible behind the plate, but he is also an excellent SS and a formidable opponent on the mound. Last time I saw him pitch he was throwing with Coach Caiazzo at Homerun Park.

Good to hear Alvirne's got a strong team, this year. We'll see you guys at North on the 19th.

Have a great season.
