Without a doubt the best rivalry in New Hampshire for EVERY sport is Pinkerton and Londonderry. That rivalry peaked in 2000 when the number one seed Pinkerton played the number sixteen seed Londonderry. Londonderry's Brian Wilson lead Londonderry to a win over one of the best teams the state has ever seen. You can throw standings out the door when Londonderry plays Pinkerton. The one advantage this rivarly has over the Nashua schools is these kids are not friends with each other. Some of the Nashua kids when to Elementary and Middle school together. There is no love loss between Londonderry and Pinkerton.
I have to agree with Orange Baseball growing up and playing sports for Pinkerton the one game we always looked for regardless of the sport was when we played the Lancers......as mentioned the records can be thrown out the window when these two play each other, and from Freshman to Varsity there is no love between the Astros and Lancers. Even as a spectator for other sports you knew too boo Londonderry. Some of the most competitive and intense games I've played in and watched were against Londonderry.
I think the Nashua schools are close but as mentioned above those guys play together growing up and have friendships with each other, but it was very rare for anyone from Derry or Londonderry to play together in High School sports.
OrangeBaseball, try to remain a TAD unbiased in youre opinions. We all know youre a Londonderry fan and that's awesome. Just try to be on here with somewhat of an open mind
Orangebaseball has been a HUGE supporter of Manchester Central's Cole Warren all season, that must be over 50% of his postings. I think Pinkerton v. Londonderry in all sports is a big rivalry here in NH.
Back when Nashua only had the one high school it's main rival was Bishop Geurtin. Those were the games circled on the calendar. When Nashua split into two schools it took the luster off of that rivalry a bit. It was quite the rivalry 25 years ago though...right up there with Londonderry / Pinkerton , probably for the same reasons...public vs private.
I actually went to a BG vs. Nashua North game this year at Holman. There were fans yelling at each other, talking trash. The players were intense coming in and out off the field getting everyone fired up. It was a pretty exciting scene.
