There are many sides to a ballplayer and I just got to see another side of Monk..... These past 2 years I have watched this catcher play in games against our team and have been awe struck............

Today I received a very nice PM from this young man, who I have never met, thanking me for my post on this thread...... That, to me, says a lot about this young man that he took the time to thank me and then spoke about being at our game last night with some kind words. WOW....how many young men would do that????

Monk, I wish you well and your team well in the playoffs and I wish you much success in the Baseball Future that lies ahead of you.
I've said it before and I will say it again.....

I obviously have a special intrest in catchers and have had the chance to coach a few. Although never coached him, Monk Kreder is the best amatuer catcher I have ever seen.

Another prediction........

In this years DFW high school class, I predict Monk Kreder to be playing professional baseball longer than any other player drafted bearing any injuries. Whether he turns pro this year or after his college career.

Talent only takes you so far. You have to have a little mean streak in you. This kid has it. Hard nosed players go a long way.

Only thing I recommend though Monk, save the high top "bling-bling" shoes for when your a DH later in your career. Wink

I think he has signed with TCU. What are the odds he will actually go there versus going pro?
