Thought this may be fun - what is your worst experience traveling with your ball player - hotels, car rides, fields, etc,

Ours was playing in a tourney that was about a mile away from a chicken processing plant - I can still smell it!!! We won the tourney but I havent touched chicken since (LOL)

We have all encountered the bad mapquest directions at some point - our team ended up parking on "main street" and asking everyone where the park was....finally, our most lost parent stumbled across the field trying to find us - 10 minutes before game time!

Last we played 3 games in a day and after eating dinner, we got back to the (real cheap) hotel after 1:00 AM with a 11:00 AM check out. The front desk called at 7 AM to remind us that we were checking out. The maids started knocking on doors at about 7:15. All of us had the "Do Not Disturb" sign up. I was determined to sleep later so I yelled come back later....they did, at about 7:30. We gave up and drove home.
To our military men, women and families - You are all awesome - that flag is yours and I thank you for the opportunity for giving me the honor of removing my cap prior to every baseball game I see.

Like a coach getting $20 hotel rooms in a slum in Broward County complete with hookers and crack dealers, more than an hours drive from Jupiter? Please don't remind me.

2yrs ago, son's 14U team had 3 play-off games in one day, all in a southern Massachusetts city with a nasty reputation. Car went by during the first game - exhaust backfired and everyone hit the deck.

Final out of the last game came at dusk. Coach's speech to team and assembled parents: "Get out of town before it gets dark. You don't want to be here after that." We all left quickly.

While my son was staying at a plush hotel with the team and most places were filled I thought I'd save some money and got a room on the internet for a great price. As we drove up to this place where there was a tree growing in the pool my wife and at the time 13 yr old daughters noticed that it was a better deal to rent the room by the hour as it was posted on the hand painted billboard. Without any arguement or eye-contact we left and I had to go and pay $190 a night at some glitzy place and ended up in a room with a round bed and mirrors. Needless to say I am no longer qualified to make those reservations.
