ARN,

Ditto tg03--be HONEST. Do you seriously want to deceive the guy who will be filling out the lineup card? You will find that the world of baseball is a small community and it would be better for coach to hear it directly from you than through the "grape vine".

With that said, you can find the NLI at www.national-letter.org There is a paragraph that refers to "Falsification of NLI" that roughly states that if I (player) falsify any part of the NLI or if I have knowledge that my parents or guardian falsified any part of this NLI...shall forfeit the first year of athletics eligibility at any NLI institution. Do not consider this legal advice by any strech just MHO.

I believe in following the "golden rule" and treating others the way that you would want to be treated.
This is Arn again. I guess I'm afraid that if I tell the coach now he may decide that they don't want me. The doctor has said that they surgery won't affect anything and short recovery. Do they ask about injuries in the National Letter of Intent. What kind of questions or what is all in the National letter?
Thanks for all the responses
ARN...

I would think that any reputable Doctor in the sports medicine field would understand your concerns and would be more than willing to put in a brief "To Whom It May Concern" letter that you can present to the coaching staff about your situation. Just understand that the procedures outlined will be verified by whoever the school uses for medical work, so there's no "fooling" the recipients with such a letter of disclosure. They will know what your doctor is talking about, and if your Dr is being honest with you, then they will substantiate this prognosis.

Good luck. Just don't tell us it's hair plugs, or tatoo removal.

Did you know a tatoo can keep you from entering the Academies?
