I watched them play this weekend. They split with CSU-Pueblo. They seem to have a very solid team. I asked around and everyone (including the opposition) seems to like the coach a lot. He's previously coached at Chico St in CA and therefore has a pipeline for CA kids. According to the roster they handed out, except for one soph, everyone else was either a junior or senior. Lots of JUCO kids. Field is nice, but small with the wind usually blowing out. Mesa State is usually the class of the league and is again this year.

No idea about the academics.

As far as the town goes, unfortunately I haven't heard many good things about it except for a lot of good Mexican restaurants. Population around 14,000 of which around 83% are hispanic.

Word is that there isn't much to do there except for school and baseball (which isn't a negative in my book).

Hope this helps. Good luck.
CaBB,

I've checked out the website, and read up on the Coach. But I'm looking for the things that they tend to leave out on the websites. You know like what the Coach is like, how he treats his players, what the city is like, etc. things of that nature.

The Coach looks like a very offensive minded guy, and yes their field looks very nice.
While I've not spent a lot of time at the school, I can tell you it's very nice for a small campus. The town is small but friendly, and relatively close to Santa Fe( <1 hr.). There are lots of outdoor activity options such as skiing, hiking, fishing, etc. The Sangre de Cristo mountains nearby range from 10K to almost 14K, while the school is at about 6K. If you're a hitter, you'll love it because the ball really flies. Pitchers learn to throw low strikes or find themselves sitting. Las Vegas is about two hours from the nearest International airport (ABQ), but I believe there's an Amtrak stop in town.
Hope this helps.
