For all involved, I am no longer a moderator in the Illinois Forum. At this time, I don't know who will take over these activities.

Take care, and I wish well for all.

Coach,

You are a good man and a role model for all of us. I want to thank you for all of your efforts in what is an absolutely thankless job. Your patience with some of these issues/people shows the type of character you possess and your ability to see the good in people. I wish we had more guys like you in the world. I know this isn’t goodbye as I’m sure you will keep posting and giving us the low down from down low in IL. Your life will be less stressful and time consuming without this. Enjoy yourself like always!

It’s sad what this board has become in a short amount of time with the constant attacking of each others comment/thoughts. This used to be a site where HIGH SCHOOL KIDS and parents could go to check out the hs baseball world and meet others with the same questions/goals/ideas. What it has become is know it all dads promoting how great jr. is...how exceptional their travel team is...and how much yours sucks. Not to mention the constant propaganda from countless sources that just riles up the same old ****. I still monitor the site and will continue to sponsor the site because I believe in the purpose, but I quit posting because of the constant negativity and childish behavior. I get enough of that during the day from my middle school students.

Thanks Coach,
Justin Stringer
Coach B,

I understand the reasons that you decided to step down, and I want to say a heartfelt "Thank You!" for all that you have done to help baseball parents, players, and coaches here in our forums. You are one of the finest people I have met through this site. I know that it has been a demanding, often stressful, and sometimes thankless endeavor for you to help keep this a positive place for all.

My kids are past HS now, but I would have loved to have one of my kids be a student in your classroom, or a player on your team.

From the bottom of my heart, Thank You!

What she said
Darrell, losing you as the moderator in our state forum will be like Dodge without Marshall Dillon. You put in countless hours of your time dealing with matters that would have warranted a sheriff. You almost lost your job, threatened with lawsuits, and that was on a good day!

I wish you, your wife and Brianna nothing but good health, safety in your school and community and lots of good softball.

There is no one else listed as moderators for this forum but I will continue to moderate this forum. IMHO, we are ALL moderators for this great baseball site known as the hsbbweb. Of all the forums on the hsbbweb, this forum causes the most problems. We need a group effort to purge the bad blood that is here. The bad guys have caused all the great moderators to resign. There are some real troublemakers here that only desire to cause others harm.

Please join me in standing up to them. We have too many good people here and we should refuse to be bullied by them. If we do not stand up to them as a group, then I can see this forum becoming a relic of the past. Please, please, please, lets not let the evil ones dictate to the many good ones how things progress in the future.
OK, perhaps I am the dumbest bunny in the basket, but tell us how WE (and by "we" I mean the good eggs, sticking with my bunny/basket theme!) can do anything to prevent others from coming on this site and causing trouble, either here or in the real world? If there's a way to help, or to make it better, give us the specifics and I know that you'll have the support of most everyone here.

And, dumb bunny question #2, just how can someone actually do anything that would impugn someone on the "outside"? Is it just that it's not worth the hassle? Or am I missing something? What exactly are these people doing that is driving good people underground?

I personally enjoy reading this forum too much to see it go away because of a bunch of goons with personal axes to grind over some imagined injustice that they just can't get over.
mythreesons,

Probably the best thing you can do at this time is to continue to participate as a caring and respectful parent and member of this community. You and other members can also report inappropriate posts by clicking the Alert button (the little triangle containing an exclamation point) underneath an offending post. I check the notifications for those Alerts at least once per day, usually several times, and consult with moderators and/or take action as needed.

As for the "outside" stuff, it is surprising and saddening. I can´t say more at this time.

Julie
