N̶o̶n̶ ̶R̶i̶c̶h̶m̶o̶n̶d̶ NOVA Area Scrimmages

My son's school Hayfield has its first scrimmage planned vs. TC Williams HS. Of, course, pending the weather so I'm thinking not likely.

More important by far are the SATs that morning...

3 way between Oakton, flint hill, west Springfield postponed until Monday starting at 4pm.

Oakton v. Lake Braddock later in the week.

This coming week, Chantilly will be scheduled to play two scrimmages at home vs. Marshall (Tuesday @ 5pm) and Battlefield (Sat @ 2pm).

That Saturday scrimmage may be a Agnos vs. Chantilly lineup. Hope so!

Indeed, Agnos was awesome last season so that would be fun to watch.

Agnos went 3 innings yesterday w/ 1B + BB against St John's.  Good velo.

Forest Park and Eastern View got a scrimmage in Saturday, it was fairly well played for being this early..

Chantilly looked pretty solid all-around against Marshall last night. Please note that the scrimmage against Battlefield has been moved from Saturday afternoon to Friday night (~6:30pm??) at Chantilly.

Lots of scouts at the Oakton - West Springfield game

Joemktg - were you at the Oakton - West game?  I was trying to find Scott Rowland before I had to run my younger boy home for homework - I only got to see about 15 minutes of that game.

joemktgspouse was there, Periscoping joemktgson's ABs while I had joemktgdaughter dance duty. DNK is Coach Rowland was in attendance: I doubt he missed it. Yes: it was well attended.

From what I understand, hitting was sparse in the OHS/FH scrimmage, and there's rust to shake off as this is the first time anyone has faced live pitching since October.

OHS v LB on Friday at 4:30.

Sidebar: Jared DiCesare's sister, a freshman at CHS, made the CHS Varsity softball team. A conundrum for Jared's Dad, having to choose which team to watch? NOT SO FAST! He's found a spot between the two home fields, outside of the OF fences, where he'll be watching both games from a folding chair. 

I should have put 2&2 together.  I'd have like to have seen your son pitch and to have said hi to Scott (I was able to get a hold of Scott as I was on my way home).  I wend to HS with Scott, very good person and coach.  One of the catchers I mentioned in other posts has had drastic improvement in velo over last year and it was very good last year.  He's our A+ arm guy. I would think he was noticed, it's impressive.  Hitting was very sparse.  Good luck at LB!

FWIW: does not pitch. And he's on notice that if he gets on the bump that I'll publicly embarrass the hell out of him while flinging stones in his general direction.

Indeed, a dilemma every proud poppa would love to have! Might be easier once Jared is at Mason next year.

Just got back from Chantilly scrimmage and must say I was very impressed with Battlefield, especially their pitching ... should make a good run this year. Some impressive hit too including a two-run bomb to LF (from Boggs??) Chantilly had one of their poorest defensive games I have witnessed in recent years.

Oakley Herriwig hit the home run.  Boggs struggled in the 3 hole tonight.  Wind played havoc on some routine pop ups.  Chantilly will be fine when their pitching settles in.

Lake Braddock can HIT! 5 bombs off the various Oakton pitchers, and twice as many to the fences. Oakton got their knocks as well. This is a very very good LB team, and may very well be a squad that harkens back to 3-5 years ago.

PVI over Lake Braddock 3-0 today paced by Kevin Kelly on the bump for 6.2 innings and good for 8 K's.
