because josh zeid is ranked 23rd and 8th for the
h.s.05 draft list by b.a.and being recruited by

why?
Very Simple-- unless you have seen EVERY pitcher of 04 or 05 class it in impossible to say who is the best in each class-- there have been a number of arms recently in the region who did not appear on peoples radar screens who suddenly rose to the top come draft time or college signing time.
I daresay that you have seen all the pitchers in the Connecticut 2005 Class.

The thing is there have not many too many high school pitchers in CT as good as Josh Zeid is ever. I'll tell you one that I can think of, World Series Champion Carl Pavanno of Southington. In my opinion Zeid is not only the best jr pitcher in the state, but he would be the best 04 pitcher as well. I hold him higher then Carignan ad Wyner. The kid is for real and was a stud with Team USA this summer. If theres an 05 arm out there that's better then Josh then I would love to see him play, he would be fun to watch.

TR - not sure if you've seen the Oct/Nov edition of the Scouting Report (joint venture of Baseball America and Perfect Game) but they ranked the top 60 freshmen in the country now that everyone is in school and eligible for the spring season. 2 kids from the northeast that I am aware of:

I believe you're talking about John Dischert(not Dissher), from St. Marks. You are correct in that he is an outstanding '05 prospect.

I would add Alex Perry from Glastonbury, CT and Team CT on the 05 list. Alex is one of strongest and most dedicated ball players in my town.

On the Highschool report, Lance Davis(Rochester NY) does not go to Churchville anymore. He transfered to Northstar Christian Academy. That school has two of the best pitching prospects in the state with Marco Rivera and Lance Davis.

Hey People have not even mentioned the best pitcher in the Northeast his name is Josh Young from Bangor Maine as a Jr he was 11-3 92IP with 7 earned runs. His ERA was 0.53 with 7 shutouts 119 strikeouts and only 25 base on balls.As a Soph he was 10-5 in 97 innings pitched with 23 earned runs for a 1.66 ERA with 95 strikeouts. He pitched in the Senior League World Series and pitched 14 innings with 0.00 ERA and 19 srikeouts. Josh stands 6'3''tall and is 190lbs. He throws righthand in the high 80's with 2 other outstanding pitches. He has complete control of the strike zone and will throw any pitch at any count. All og Josh's losses have come by one run. He always keeps his team in the game he is a true pitcher with a strong desire to win he is a true sleeper coaches have said his best days lay ahead.
