Equipman - My daughter is there right now - freshman. Academics are challenging according to daughter who was a good HS student. NKU is largely a commuter school. I think only 10-20% of students live on campus. Housing options are great! Brand new student center. Campus consists of lots of concrete which isn't the prettiest place I've ever seen. Plenty of restaurant options around campus. Lots of activities on campus - not that baseball players have a lot of time. Florence, KY has a mall, more dining options, and an independent ball team. Daughter's dorm has sand volleyball pits right by it and that appears to be a big hangout spot. Administration seems a bit disorganized at times, but our other college experiences (son) were with smaller schools... so perhaps they're no different than other mid sized schools. Daughter's advisor has been very good. Helped her change around her schedule prior to the start of school with very logical and correct advice - don't take for granted!

Baseball - Asalon is fairly laid back compared to many baseball coaches I've known. Doesn't give a lot of baseball money to the younger kids. The last time I saw the field (which has been several years), it wasn't in great shape - perhaps that's changed. Asalon is well respected around here with the baseball folks I know. As far as I know, there's no rumors around about him leaving.

You might send a PM to Mde5 who's son went there for his perspective.
