Langley's Robert Hood and Jon O'Connor combine on a no-hitter, Hood going the first 6. The previous night W-L's Austin Evans no-hit McLean through 5 innings and 72 pitches. They relieved him for the 6th and McLean got to the reliever for 5 to win 5-4.

Great to see LB participating in something like this with big-name private school and even better to see them clean up the event.

T.C. had contributions from the entire roster. We have Woodson next. That will be a tougher test.

More specific..claim one for Lake Braddock...they played very well, as expected...no other Northern region team contributed...

From your perspective ...maybe...but there is a VAST difference between Wakefield and Woodson...beat Woodson, then post proudly. You have to know why....come on...keep it nice... I sincerely wish you well...I know and like some TCW folks!

Personally, I do not think it is even necesarry to point out the fact that Wakefield is of lesser quality then Woodson. That is pretty obvious. no more pointing out obvious facts...dblemup wont like it and will fire back with smart a s s comments...

Bruin - I gave your team its well deserved credit (read above)...some thin skin up in that northern region...

I thought novabball's original comment about Woodson being a tougher test than Wakefield was legit--he was enthusiastic about what TCW had shown so far but acknowledged it's too early to get excited. Nothing wrong with that.

I know most teams start district play this friday. Other then Lake Braddock vs West Springfield, what are some other so called "big" games this week?

I say so called because the season is young and definetly no game this early has huge implications on anything.

Wash Post has a nice video from Friday's game...Rogers pitched in that one, so I too would guess Towns...

Well Towns vs Beal should be a good match up. Fun to watch...

Towns vs. Beal straight up you choose Towns or is it because of LB bats too?

This will be another great early season matchup much like LB vs. WS was on Friday.

I give the edge to LB on Tuesday, mainly because South County has only played ONE SCRIMMAGE thusfar due to weather cancelations. They have not seen game action since an early March scrimmage vs. Mt. Vernon. LB has already hit the ground running, having already played some of the best teams in the area.

As far as Beal vs. Towns, flip a coin. I think Beal has better 'stuff' and has a bit higher upside as a pitcher. Towns is an infielder first, pitcher second. But that's not to say that he isn't capable of shutting down a good offense. He has experience in big games and is a very smart player.

Tuesday's winner may very well end up playing for a region title, but, it is still very early and South County will be taking the field for the first time in a game that counts. No matter the outcome, both of these teams WILL be chasing titles at season's end.

Not so fast, guys. South County plays tonight at West Potomac (game was rained out on Friday). I doubt that one will be a gimme. Lake Braddock at home on Tuesday, then at Woodson on Friday. Should be an interesting week.

South County should handle West Potomac easily tonight.

I'm going to see Hayfield vs. Edison (nice local rivalry given their very close proximity) tonight, though I'd expect Hayfield should be able to win easily...but I could be mistaken.
