McLean vs South County should be good
Sborz vs. Beal

I believe that's going to be a Sborz vs Frazier.

Guess I won't drive up for that one.

You might want to, Redbird. Frazier is a pretty darn good pitcher. Hasn't gotten as much notice as Beal, mainly because of all the preseason pub Beal had, but in my opinion Frazier is at least as good, probably better.

I agree the McLean / South County game would be a fun one to watch regardless of who is on the hill for SC. I do think McLean has more of a chance than most might think, but they will definitely have to earn it...

Lots of these games could go either way, but I mostly agree with bxbomber's picks...a few I think I'd go the other way on though!

Hope the storms hold off tomorrow night...would hate to have any team's season end with part of a game left to be played as happened with some games in the first round of Regions last year...

Wow. I'm sure Frazier is pretty good but you are saying he is better than 88-91 with a PLUS CB and a scholarship to the defending National Champion?!?

And, yes, McLean has a chance with Sborz on the mound. He can beat anyone.

I'm saying that I've seen both of them pitch several times this season and this is no knock at all on Beal, because he is very good, but at this point in the season I'd rather face him than Frazier.

I agree with berry berry, Frazier has been their best pitcher down the stretch and though not the 'name' that Beal is, he is every bit as capable of turning in a dominating performance.

Bxbomber, I will take Hayfield, Stone Bridge, Chantilly, and West Springfield...

I can never find the schedule for these games. When is the South County/McLean game?

TMM, there is a link on another string on this site that is titled "Path to 2011 AAA State Tournament" that has the complete schedule of all games. The South County/McLean game is scheduled for tonight at 7 at South County.

A number of our 'eyes' have reported this spring that Frazier has indeed stepped up his game to the level of Beal's. Must be a pleasant problem for Coach Luther to have. Regardless, both are very, very good.

The change was made to accomodate Woodson having their prom tonight.

Frazier was named first team all region as a pitcher. Congrats to the young man on having a great season. Sborz, as a junior was named pitcher of the year.

I have seen Beal 2 times & Frazier 1 time vs West Springfield this year. NO question in my mind who has had better performances. Frazier kept West Springfield off balance for the Patriot district tournament semi. WS was in both games vs Beal but struggled IMO with control. He has a really nasty slider; no doubt about that. In terms of 88-91 with a plus CB - I would guess Tyler is in that range. CB & changeup made WS look silly. This is from a West Springfield dad. I would really like to see matchup but will be watching WS vs Madison. I have never seen Sborz but stats look impressive. My take is that it will be defense (other than pitching) & bats that make the difference here. South County's line up is really strong - IMO one of the best around.

Andrew Weidinger breaks a 3 - 3 tie in the fifth inning with a 2-run home run. Kenny Towns adds a 3-run home run in the sixth. Thomas Rogers picks up the win relieving Michael Church in the 4th.

What about the South County / McLean game? Any result?

It was South County 4 - McLean 0, play suspended with two outs in the bottom of the first inning and SC batting. Luke Bondurant hit a 3 run homer and Tyler Frazier a solo home run.

When will the South County / McLean game resume? Just trying to keep the Path to the State AAA Baseball Tournament updated.
