THis is a tough one for me to write but only the ladies will understand. Day before yesterday I found out that I had to have a second surgery on my back, my first one was done this past July. I relunctantly told my youngest son (10th grader)who seemed to take it pretty well. My youngest son's baseball coach just sent me an e-mail that said my son had come into his office yesterday and told him that he needed to be pulled out of the starting rotation for the spring because I might need him after the surgery and he did not want to let his team or his mom down. He told him he needed to be there for me. God I love being his mom and now I can't stop crying. Worse than that I have to get up in ten minutes and teach 8th graders history.

Sounds like not only do you have a compassionate son, but one who is capable of handling business! Those are great attributes!
I wish you fast healing with your upcoming surgery. Be sure and keep us gals filled in as the time draws closer. We will be here to lend an ear.
Hug that son of yours,...he sounds like quite a young man. Sometimes even us moms need a helping hand. Thank goodness for our children.
Hugggzzzzz ( and kleenex too Wink )

My oh my what a keeper you have there !!! Can't imagine one of us girlfriends not relating to that, and hoping that our boys/young men/men have half the compassion and understanding of other people's needs. Give him a hug from me too ... I miss those days of my son's youth so I will live vicariously through you.

Another thing ...

This might just be more painful than the surgery ... you teachers are another big blessing in our world.

Thaks for all of your nice comments and thoughts. Last night when I got home I went straight to my son and gave him a bear hug for what seemed like five minutes. After I did that he blushed and said.."Coach called you didn't he" I just smiled and gave him another hug. Yuou have to admit the best job we have is being a Mom" Well with the exception of laundry day
Well I sit at my desk in my classroom thanking god for all of the wonderful blessings he has given me. I had my surgery that went extremely well. I can't officially come back to teach until January 17 however I have enjoyed the time with my boys at home. What cracked me up was that my 2 sons along with my husband put together a schedule that they called "covering mom". It was so funny I almost injured myself laughing. In the schedule was times for my medication, reading and just talking to mom. Only the male species would put in a schedule time to talk to mom. Happy new year to you all!!

Hmmmm ... sounds like that condition is quite contagious and has even hit our home here on the Left Coast. Nothing like Christmas cookies and candy and a little prednisone on the side to make me feel like I should be getting paid to advertise with PDB himself. (I could probably be cast as the PDM (Pillsbury Dough Mom).
