I remember discussing on the internet about how parents are now showing up at their adult children's work. I was thinking it was mentioned in here but can't seem to find it.

I got a class that is working on dealing with classroom management and stuff. The discussion was steered toward helicopter parents and I brought up how parents are trying to deal with their kids bosses and stuff. Nobody believed me that it was happening. I found some articles on it but just wanted to look at the info that was on here again.

Any help be appreciated.

Coach I don't recall it brought up here. However, you can relay to your class that you know of one parent who would love to show up at his adult sons job site every day.

I saw a show, maybe 60 Minutes, about this. It was about kids between the ages of 15-24. They have a name for them.
These are the ones who grew up never having to fend for themselves, everybody gets trophies, mom would call teachers and coaches... When they got into the workforce they have a bad work ethic and no commitment to the company. If they didn't like the boss or the way they were treated they would just quit.

The parents of these young adults would actually call the company to discuss why the child was treated poorly or complain about a bad job review.
I would bet money that I saw something on here about it. Maybe I was wrong.

RJM I did a search and came up with few more articles that are helpful.

filsfan the 60 minutes show sounds pretty familiar but I may have seen it somewhere other than here.

I don't want this thread to end up a nothing wrong or it's destroying society topic. I have my opinions but I am going to keep them to myself until I get back to class next week.

Thanks again guys.

The end result is fairly obvious. With equal potential the kid who was taught to be mentally tough and stand for himself will go further than the kid who had his hand held and his battles fought for him. A mentally tough person with less potential might go further on street smarts and savvy.
