I wonder if I know of you...I grew up in Wichita,KS. and my family still lives there.

My son and I just got back from your home town a few weeks ago. Went up to Wichita State for a little baseball. Smile ( Go SHOCKERS! )

Were glad to have ya,....and I look forward to reading your future posts!

Again,....welcome!
Shortstopmom,

Hello to you and yours! Welcome to KS!(I still think of it as home)

I attended WSU and ran for WSU track team waaay back in the 70's. I don't remember hearing much about the baseball program at WSU during that time. Just in the last couple of years, a few of my son's coaches have mentioned to me that the baseball program at WSU is very good now.

Did you attend a WSU camp or just visiting?

I hear that the Pitching Coach and camps are very good. Do you know how the catching camps are? We have never attended any of their camps. I may just have to see if they will be having a camp later in Aug.

Do you ever go to the NBC games? We always try to make it back to watch some of the NBC games after the last games of the season are over down here. It's pretty interesting. Lots of scouts. We stay 'til 2-3:00AM! That's what I keep trying to tell these guys down here! It's great ball playing at that time, but they insist on playing when its 100+ degrees out! They think it sounds crazy. I guess they just need to go to KS and see how it's done right!

So, I take it that your son is a shortstop. Is he a Senior? I sure could use some words of wisdom and it sounds like you have been around baseball for a while. My son is going to be a Soph. this year and although he's been playing select ball for many years, this high school stuff is new.

Been good talkin' to you! Keep me posted if you know of any good camps/showcases in Wichita.
