no good can come out of it for the pro team. if they win? well they were supposed to. If they even allow the game to be close, it makes the pros look really bad.

Did the college team use wood bats?
I'm surprised the mlb team would play a college team I would think there would be insurance issues.

Many college teams have annual games vs MLB teams in the spring RE: The Red Sox and Boston College---the games are played with wood

Son played for Manatee CC in Bradenton, and they scrimmage the Pirates every year. Many MLB teams will scrimmage college teams that they have some connection to, but not too many will play a JUCO team. We thought it was a great opportunity and really cool!

In Florida the opening day of spring training for most teams is usually a match-up of MLB team vs. a college team (including some DII schools). I got to catch one last year and it was fun to watch...it was a very close game between the Tigers and Florida Southern College. This years game...not so close.

Another Florida scrimmage yesterday. Oakton's doing even better!
