This is one of those types of posts that hinges on what information we can deduce from the information given.....

Most often this is what Umpires call a "HTBT" or "had to be there" to determine what happened....

But from what I read there is no obstruction here.....Im assuming you want obstruction called on the catcher for being in the path of the runner....,seems to me he was in the act of fielding the ball so he can be there..

You might have interference on the Batter/runner if he interfered with the catchers attempt to field the ball, but there is not enough info to determine that......

You might have a train wreck........and a possible safe or out call......

from what I read, I had to be there to determine it. Most likely I got a "play on"....

ten feet is a bit too soon to slide without looking ridiculous, go around him while he's on the line and be called out of base path, as a catcher step back to allow the runner through, as a runner go back to third and cause a pickle? Any other suggestions? What could the baserunner or catcher have done? All of this if there was time to plan ahead. But runner, catcher, and ball arrive at point at once. What's a player to do and what does the umpire call upon collision?
based on the comment that ball, catcher and runner arrive at the same time all you have here is a collision and a possible safe or out call......

In NFHS rules you do not have to slide 10 feet from the base, you can around a fielder to avoid interfereing with the fielder, and the catcher has the right to be in the base path to field the ball.....

This is a train wreck......nothing to call but safe or out......
