Offer after Applying?

Is it common for D2 schools to request that you apply in order to see if you pass admissions, and see if you qualify for any academic money. Then, offer some athletic to go with it.

Also, can a D2 school make an offer after before the spring signing date?

TheRock - It is not uncommon for any small school, especially a DII or a NAIA to ask a student to enroll and allow the coach to see what institutional aid the school can put together before he adds his money to the package. Many schools do not fully fund and have to be very creative in putting together the financial package.

And a DII can make an offer just as a DI could before the spring signing. A player can commit, but would have to wait to sign of course.... similar to the early signing period and months preceeding it.
