All good answers -- and just to clarify, if it's DEFENSIVE interference or obstruction and the batter is awarded 1st base, then indeed it's NOT counted as a time at bat.

If it's OFFENSIVE interference where say the batter does something to interfere with the catcher, then the batter's out, and it would be counted as a time at bat.
