In the first game of the day, it appears that the Orioles tied the Royals. The 2 hitters of the game were Ronnie Mitchell of Southlake and Adam Ferris of Liberty Christian HS.

In the second game, the Reds beat the A's. Pitchers of the game for game 2 were Mitchell Pitts of FM Marcus and Trey Frazier of Prestonwood. The Hitters of the Game were Mike Ritter of Arlington and John Michael Twitchell of Bishop Lynch

In the NIGHTcap, the Giants beat the Pirates in the battle of the white shirts. Pitchers of the game for game 3 were Austin Bussey of Lake Highlands and Jake Feckley of Wylie HS. The hitters of the game were Scott Slusher of Grapevine and Rick Cruz of South Grand Prairie HS.

The Metro Scout League passed out 13 Scout Books to the following professional organizations and colleges throughout the day: Cleveland Indians, Pittsburgh Pirates, One Sports Agent/Advisor, Kansas State U, Louisiana State U, Texas State U, UTA, University of Central Arkansas, Austin College, Navarro, Frank Phillips, Grayson College and Howard JC.

I believe that is a total of 56 scouts/coaches that have received scout books from us. Our goal was 10 a week for a total of 50. The average of the 4 week period is 14 per week. There are 11 schools or pro organizations that have RSVP'd for next week. As Mrs. Catcher will tell you, some folks do not fully understand the rules of the RSVP, so we will see what happens next week...

NOTES- Next week we will start at 8am at UTD in Richardson. We will have our SCOUT Day. Players will be timed and graded in all aspects of the game. This will be similar to a Try Out Camp.

Game times for next week will be 10-1230-3pm

AN ADDED TREAT FOR THE LAST WEEKEND OF THE MSL WILL BE THAT EACH HITTER WILL BE GIVEN THE OPTION OF METAL OR WOOD FOR THEIR AB'S.

In the case of rain, do us a favor and call your MSL coach. Try and not call the number provided. Your coach can update you on the weather if needed.
If anyone has any questions, please call one of the directors or send us a PM.

After 4 weeks of the MSL I have to tell you know from a parents perspective this has really been a great thing for the D/FW area kids. It has done a great job of promoting Dallas Fort Worth baseball.

It has given exposure to kids.
One place for coaches to go see the boys play no hopping from field to field.

It has saved money for parents IMHO Smile
No travel, no hotel accomodations
My hat goes off to the MARSHALLS, DBAT, AND THE MUSTANGS
Hope it will continue for years to come.

catcher,
I was visiting with one of the college coaches yesterday and he was extremely enthusiastic about the MSL. He was showing me his Scout Book and raving about how well organized the book was as well as the whole day itself. He was also impressed that you guys were able to make the MSL games piggyback on the Texas New Mexico Junior College All Star Game. It allowed him to come to Texas on Thursday night and stay through Sunday and see everyone he needed to see. He told me that a number of players that he was not aware of before yesterday had really impressed him. Sounds like the MSL is working the way it was supposed to work - giving players the opportunity to show what they can do.
