I'll confess to being a strange one on this subject. I wanted Florida in football but I want OSU in basketball.

There is some background to that though. When Urban Meyer went to Florida many SEC posters on a different board said Meyer would be overwhelmed by the SEC coming from Utah (still his best offensive team). Seems to me he's done just fine. Despite what some think there is football played outside of the south. On the other hand my brother-in-law is a professor at OSU so I want OSU to do well.

I listened to a radio show on my way home from son's games yesterday that was discussing the football prominence at both of these schools. KY is currently looking for a basketball coach and both OSU and FL's coaches are being thrown around as candidates. What's interesting is if either are offered UK's job, they'll probably end up getting really big raises to keep them at current schools which could put them ahead of the football coach's salary. What would the traditional football lovin' folks at each school think about that?
I do not think Donovan will be leaving Florida---from what I have heard Florida is ready to match dollor wise whatever Kentucky offers him

It might not be too far fetched to see the Florida junior starters, if they win title # 2 return for a try at an unprecedented title #3---that could dovetail with Donovans decisions

That's what the word is... and if so, then Matta or Donovan would be paid more than the football coaches. I would think that might be an issue for both schools and the football programs.

I don't think Matta is going anywhere either... but think he might be gaining a bit of a raise from his success and due to the rumors/possible offer.

Donovan... think he'll be making more next year too... just a matter of addresses.
I watched alot of Florida basketball early this season and was very impressed. At the time, I thought there was no one that could beat this team. Then they got beat. But...they have phenomenal talent and will probably bring it all Mon. nite. However, I don't think Donovan will leave. I am unrealistic enough to think that loyalty, family, responsibility, etc. are more important than having the elite job of coaching at Kentucky. Am I crazy? I don't think money is an issue at this point, but pride and ego. Of course he won't be letting any of his players down because they will all be pros next season! Some suggest a calling to the Miami Heat would be more in order.

I'm a little worried about Oden though...this tough loss has taken it's toll on him...it looks as though he has aged a few years...he looks like he's 22 or 23 years old now!

Gotwood... that's being generous. I had told lhpx2 the first time I saw him play, I went to their website to check his age. I was positive the kid was 30 years old! He actually took a couple of years off his appearance by shaving a very large beard.

The announcers said that his mom has had to carry his birth certificate around everywhere he played as a younger kid, since no one would believe his age.
