Anybody attending or has attended? Trying to decide if we want to go and spend the money. They present it as if you want to be recruited by them, then you need to attend.
I think that is the way it is with most colleges. They have to see if they can work with you. They have to see you in person before they will get into the recruiting process.
The University of Missouri winter camp is another option. I know they have several other colleges and professional scout represented there so exposure will not be limited. They also have 14 members of their current team who have come from camp. Good luck!
Mizzou puts on a good camp. Went to the summer camp in 05. Went to the fall camp in Sept.(last month) that had to be held indoors. Received a note on the evaluation hoping to see us at the winter camp. Hard to tell if there is any interest (wish there was!), or just as a fundraiser. Not sure if there were any other schools at the fall camp.
catch15, I know that there was one JC coach and one DII coach who helped with fall camp. There will be more than that at the winter camp though. Missouri, like many schools, takes advantage of seeing guys in camp that they haven't been able to see during recruiting. It's a great opportunity to meet the coaches, see the facilities, and play some baseball.
obviously the winter camp will be held indoors due to weather. Do you know when it is being held for sure? Will they be playing games during the camp????
catch15, if you are talking about the Missouri camp, there will be three sessions, Dec. 26-27, Dec. 28-29, and Dec. 29-30. It will be in the indoor facility, and there will be games played in there. The facility, as you remember from fall camp, is pretty much indestructible.
Got back from OSU 2 weeks ago. I went to thier showcase camp for 2 days it was ok. Only saw 1 scout there from KC. Camp was mostly ran by players about 6. We had 6 teams.Over all I would say it was ok. I did get a call from a d1 sec school for a visit but not from this camp.
