Yeah I just saw that. Thats great I love it. I consider it a priveledge to be able to come here and talk to other baseball people. My only hope is somehow I can help someone in some way and at the same time learn from all of you. I have definitely learned from the parents and other coaches here. And I have enjoyed the conversation and the stroies about the players. We start official practice tomorrow and play on the 22nd of feb a scrimmage game. Soon we all will be able to share stories about the games and accomplishments this year. I look forward to that as always.
Only about 330 more to go.... I'm tired - can we devide the post level by age - that would work for me....I turn 47 this week and my family is cruel. I'm not sure if it will be a celebration or a (pre) wake.

If I didn't love them so much I would probably be angry plus baseball has started again!!!!

Nothing gives me more joy then watching my son play - I don't have rose colored glasses but if anyone has some suggestions on rose colored bi-focals please let me know.

WHEW - thanks for the clarification, Bob. I was a bit concerned that you had been peeping through the windows and noticed some of those gray roots I pay big money to never see myself... Eek Eek I am now thrilled with my new distinction, but a bit amazed that I actually have had over 500 things to say in this forum - I'm usually more of a shy, retiring sort... tater
TR when I was 22 23 the Durham Bulls came back home after being gone for several years. I actually played HS games there at the Durham Athletic Park. When they came back (for good) I started going to a few games with my friends. There were these (old timers) that sat right behind home plate in the box seats. Every game they were there, season ticket holders. We used to walk over to them and they would tell us these great stories about Luzinski and Joe Morgan when they played in Durham. We used to call them "Old Timers" it was a figure of speech that we used to show respect to them. I have the ultimate respect for the Old Timers of the game because they have passed the test of time. They have been everywhere in the game that I have been and want to go. Its OLD TIMERS like TR that make this game what it is. They respect the game and they give back to the game. And they are always willing to help someone else even if that person can never give them anything back in return. I hope that I can be an Old Timer in that regard for a long time.
