I have been reading and posting a little on this site for quite awhile.

i have noticed a few old timers posting some,I have recently started reading here again. This is usually a good place to read up on baseball things.

I was curious how many of the older posters are still around? got wood, and his wife, etc.maybe this isn't the right place for this, but I never was very good at proper posting.

even after being away for a few years, this is still a great site. julie and everyone else work hard to make it this way. I for one say thanks for all you do and have done. Thanks for letting me ramble.

Still Here and getting to be even more of an "old timer."  I miss my buddy Woodrow.  I do get to see him when our daughters compete against each other in softball.  PlayBaseball is also there and so, that makes it fun.  We took our families out together after the games and spent time together.  Good times!

I thought there would be more replys than this, but being a Holliday weekend people are probably away.

Rj, I have noticed you posting stuff all along, because you are helpful, all of the old timers still offer guidence. This is too long a road not to pick things up.

Coach I have talked to Woody on the phone, before I got sick.he tracked down my cel some how.a very nice surprise to hear from him. Life is to short not to make connections when you can.if you see them again give them my best.if they remember me?

I'm sure all the old timers either had their sons or daughters in college or other paths that have taken them down different paths that have taken them away from here.but with the playoffs on, baseball has brought me back here. To read about new trials and tribulations of new members.the circle of baseball, never ending.

i leave Monday for florida, not for baseball but to take my family to Disney.helps them get lost...forget about life for awhile.we can all forget about life for awhile.

Very nice seeing that there are some things that just survive, such as this site.that isn't an accident I'm sure.

Great game last night.when I was a kid and the Red Sox were out of it,we rooted for the team in the AL east. So I'll be rooting for them O's.but I don't think they'll need my help. Very nice to see the extended baseball family here is still kicking,so am I. I'll be lurking as long as I'm around. See you round the fountain.

Well I guess I don't qualify as an "old timer" but that's alright

I'm still around although I don't post a whole lot. I'm now living in Dallas, TX and work as the Head Athletic Trainer in the largest private high school in the state of Texas..

Bulldog19,

Hmmm, Let's see if you qualify.

Doesn't seem like a very close call, Old Timer.

Today's pitchers don't throw enough!

- Just bringing back a memory ... The ghost of TR.

For anyone who ever met TR they know he was a real character. My first visual contact absolutely did not match the board demeanor. Even now I get the vision of Paul Williams (singer/songwriter) in a baseball uniform.

TR loved to tangle with umpires..........and here on HSBBW was no different......we had some good back and forths over the years......he never let his lack of rules knowledge sway his opinions!...lol.....

I imagine that TR and my our recently passed umpire  Michael S Taylor are still at it somewhere up there.........

I'm from Waterloo, IL. Wartburg is a little small community right outside of town. In fact, until I moved to Texas, my dad and I played golf out at Acorns in Wartburg almost once a week..

And one of the reasons Bulldog moved is because he knew I would come down to Acorns and lay a whopping on him and his dad.  LOL!  Ok, so I'm a grip and rip and Acorns is placement golf.  Maybe I'd be the one receiving the whopping.  Bulldog, if you and your dad want a laugh or two, when/if you get back home, I'd love to drive down to Acorns and show you my golfing prowess or lack thereof. Maybe teach Coach Vogel a thing or two as well.

Not really old timer but been around about ten years. I miss many of the posters from when I first came on here. 08 dad mentioned two I miss. There are many more.

I try to offer help when  can, as I was helped so much when I came here.

Its a good site and Julie has provided an awesome tool to use to navigate. Bob before her.

Nice to see you post!!
